Meet Rise Up! youth from across the province
You’re Invited to the October Provincial Retreat
Save the date! We’re so excited to share that the retreat will take place October 15th to 18th at Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa and Resort in Parksville, BC!
Our Provincial Retreat brings together YOU, our Rise Up! youth volunteers, Rise Up! staff and incredible local food systems experts from across BC for four days of connection, learning, leadership development, hands-on activities, food systems conversations, place-based learning, and fun!
It’s a chance to meet other participants from across the province, build community, and explore topics that matter to you.
We encourage you to block off the dates in your calendar now so you can join us! Registration will be opening soon, and we’ll be sharing more details about the agenda, workshops, guest speakers, travel logistics, and more in the coming weeks.

Provincial Retreat
The Rise Up! Provincial Retreat (March 12 – 15, 2026) was a free, inclusive, and dynamic event for all Rise Up! Youth from across BC to gather and celebrate their volunteer work, network and build community with their peers.
During the event, youth participated in leadership, skill-building, and informational workshops about food systems, environmental stewardship, and active citizenship.

March 2024
Provincial Retreat
Rise Up! began as a pilot project in 2023—a seed planted in service, community, and connection to land. Today, that seed has grown into a thriving, multi-year initiative cultivating youth leadership in food systems and environmental stewardship across British Columbia.
The first provincial retreat took place on March 1st – 3rd, 2024 at the Sunrise Ridge Waterfront Resort. Youth attended keynote lectures, participated in workshops and met other youth from across the province.
